Matadora was all around excellent. We tried this restaurant on a whim as they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation. From the moment we were seated, we were very impressed with both the service and the quality of each dish we ordered. As a group of two, we shared 6 dishes and each was better than the last! Our server Vanessa was fantastic and made our experience very enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Cute spot for some great cocktails and tasty tapas! The cocktails were a hit and I will definitely go back to try more from their drink menu. The bread servings are generous, and although I didn’t find the flavours of the tapas overly impressive, they were still good. The staff were absolutely lovely, and I really enjoyed the ambiance. From the decor to the music, it was a nice atmosphere for a date night.
We adored this place. We had the tapas menu for two, with a fabulous Garnacha. Our server was the literal sweetest. The food was amazing. It is in the most charming part of Chinatown. Do not miss out on their dazzling variation of the tortillas, their chorizo with white beans, the conservas, or the Basque cheesecake. We loved every minute, and we’ll be returning in one of them.
Dinner at Matadora last week was simply wonderful. We started with cocktails- I had the “Matadora” and couldn’t stop at one. I shared the tasting menu and a bottle of Spanish red with my son, a local Chef. The tapas were beautifully prepared and delightful to consume. The space is intimate and casual with a Spanish vibe. Service was great; prices reasonable. Look forward to next time.

Love this place! Tucked away in china town, it’s a tapas style restraunt that focuses on Spanish flavours from all over Spain. The owner is quite knowledgeable/ well educated in wines and imports directly from Spain. I would highly recommend the pate or any spread and the homemade cheesecake. Don’t wait too long though, the menu is seasonal and changes often. Also ask them about their live music nights, these can be really fun nights!
